In 1994, Founder, Glenda Harrison's beautiful and vivacious mother was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. After seeing the effects of cancer and it's treatments on her mother, Verlene Mixon; Glenda began to comfort her the best way she knew how, by pampering her with nice body lotions (to sooth her skin from the drying effects of chemotherapy), massaging her mother's feet, purchasing pretty head scarves, and reading her the Word of God. Though her mother lost her fight against cancer, after many years of emotional healing, Glenda prayerfully made the decision to  make encouraging and comforting women, who are fighting cancer, her personal heart-felt mission.

In 2008, A Daughter's Heart, Inc., a not-for-profit corporation, was founded so that Glenda could continue to comfort women by delivering ADH Love Pouches to patients that are courageously fighting all types of cancers. The Love Pouches contain items that her mother found to be uplifting during her personal journey.

The name, A Daughter's Heart, Inc. was created when Glenda realized that the vision came to life through the love she had for her mother. With wanting to comfort and encourage women who are fighting cancer, and with the desire to deliver the Love Pouches; A Daughter's Heart, Inc. was formed. Under the spiritual covering of Rev. Glen Haworth and Chino United Methodist Church; A Daughter's Heart, Inc. is now sponsored by the United Methodist Church; which is her mother's spiritual legacy.

Glenda, also a Legislative Ambassador for the American Cancer Society, has a strong passion for women that are enduring the diagnoses of cancer. With a strong interest in woman issues, Glenda decided to change her focus from a 20 year stay in the fashion industry to providing encouragement to women that may not feel like celebrating their true beauty during the cancer journey. "It is my hope that the women will never stop loving themselves, even when the fight is strong." Glenda would be the first person to tell you that true beauty is not so much about how clothes can make you feel on the outside, but how beautiful you are on the inside. Exhibiting compassion to women that are fighting cancer is Glenda K. Harrison’s true mission in life. At A Daughter's Heart we believe...

If you have to fight cancer...Fight it beautifully!
