In 1994, Founder, Glenda Harrison's beautiful and vivacious mother was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. After seeing the effects of cancer and it's treatments on her mother, Verlene Mixon; Glenda began to comfort her the best way she knew how, by pampering and helping her to maintain her dignity.

In 2008, Glenda began to ponder the direction of her life, and realized that she could no longer ignore an ever-present desire to support women that find themselves on the same path that her beloved mother had to endure. With a strong faith and determination, A Daughter's Heart, Inc., a not-for-profit corporation, was formed so that Glenda, as well as other compassionate volunteers, could continue to comfort women by delivering Love, Comfort, Encouragement and Support in the form of what is now affectionately called a Love Pouch. The Love Pouch serves as a loving memory to the time spent with her mother and is filled with personal items that will bring a smile and hope to a women on this journey.

The name, A Daughter's Heart, Inc. was created when Glenda realized that the vision came to life through the love she holds in her heart towards her mother. With the spiritual covering of Rev. Glen Haworth and Chino United Methodist Church, the mission of A Daughter's Heart is fulfilled monthly by partnering with hospitals that share the same belief in offering hope, love and encouragement to women during their journey. In 2009, A Daughter's Heart partnered with Methodist Hospital in Arcadia, California, and in 2010, Loma Linda University Medical Center made the decision to partner as well. Now, with two major hospitals and over two dozen volunteers, A Daughter's Heart reaches over 400 women each year with it's Love Pouch and prayer ministry. In addition to partnering with two hospitals, A Daughter's Heart launched Operation Reach in January 2012. With Operation Reach, Love Pouches are now delivered all around the United States of America.

Glenda has often been quoted in saying, "It is my hope that the women will never stop loving themselves, even when the fight is strong." Glenda would be the first person to tell you that true beauty is not so much about how you feel on the outside, but how beautiful you are on the inside. From A Daughter's Heart grows life, and we are about celebrating beautiful lives and exhibiting compassion to women that are in a fight for their lives. At A Daughter's Heart we believe:

If you have to fight cancer...Fight it beautifully!
